If you live in the Metro Vancouver area, then you might know about a little comic bookshop nestled just off
Broadway at Main Street called Rx Comics. And if you don't, then YOU SHOULD! This store offers a wide variety of comics, collectibles, back issues, and that je ne sais qoui that keeps you coming back for more!
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and combined with their unbeatable prices and well stocked new (and used) collection of trades, Rx is sure to make a fangirl (or fanboy) out of you!

And if their preternatural awesomeness wasn't convincing enough,

then buckle up for THIS SATURDAY, MAY 5, 2012, otherwise known as

FCBD: Free Comic Book Day!

Rx has combined forces with the food bank once again this year to offer amazing deals, and to make this the biggest FBCD food and donation drive yet! Here's the skinny from the store itself:

"Last year was the most successful Free Comic Book Day in RX's history! And to top it off, we were able to ensure that hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of food got to people in the Lower Mainland that really needed it. We're very proud to announce that we're doing the same thing this year. If you come to the get a free comic! But if you donate non-perishable food or money to the Vancouver Food Bank, you'll get MORE free comics, and even some toys! We're looking to make this even bigger than last year, so tell EVERYONE you know!"---From RX Facebook FBCD Food and Food Bank Drive Fanpage

They're also getting a shout-out from Bleeding Cool for all this giveaway madness!

"RX Comics in Vancouver, British Columbia, will be running a major drive with Vancouver’s Food Bank in conjunction with Free Comic Book Day. So if you come in, you get free comics, but if you bring in money or non-perishable food items for the Vancouver Food Bank, you’ll get more free comics and toys, some donated by customers, some by the shop."

But wait, there's more!

They'll also be having 50% off of all their back issues, and 25% off of EVERYTHING ELSE! Toys, trades, comics, tshirts, the whole darn thing! So do yourself a favor, bring down some food or money for the food bank, and get some crazy deals (and free comics and toys!)
